Hope for All DirectAid

Help with a specific need — not a guess

People ask for help with something specific, like a week of groceries or a transit pass. A caseworker reviews each request. Donors fund approved needs, and help arrives as a voucher the person can use at a verified local vendor.

SANDBOX — no real money

This is a development build. Payments use a sandbox — no real money moves. Contributions are not tax-deductible.

How DirectAid works

  1. Step 1: A person asks for help

Someone using Hope for All Care requests help with an essential item, such as groceries, hygiene products or a transit pass.
  2. Step 2: A caseworker reviews it

An outreach worker or caseworker checks the request and writes a short, anonymous summary. Only approved needs are shown to donors.
  3. Step 3: Donors fund it

You choose a need to fund — fully or in part. You see the category, city and summary, never who the person is.
  4. Step 4: A voucher is issued

Once funded, the person receives a voucher for that category with a set value and expiry date.
  5. Step 5: They use it locally

The voucher is redeemed at a verified vendor that is approved for that category, like a grocery store or laundromat.
  6. Step 6: You see it was used

Your donation history shows when your gift was matched, when a voucher was issued, and when it was used.

Needs waiting for funding

A live preview of approved needs. Only a short summary, the category and the city are shared.

SANDBOX — no real money

Contributions are not tax-deductible.

Built to protect dignity and privacy

Donors never see who they help

No names, photos, stories or exact locations. Only a short summary written by the caseworker, the category and the city.

Every request is reviewed

A caseworker or outreach worker approves each need before it is shown. Private notes stay with the reviewer.

Help for a specific purpose

Vouchers are tied to one category — like groceries or transit — with a set value and expiry date.

Verified local vendors

Vendors are approved for each category. They see only the category, value, expiry and the last four characters of the code.

You can follow your gift

Your history shows whether your gift has been matched, turned into a voucher, and used.

Honest about receipts

DirectAid contributions are not tax-deductible, and Hope for All Care does not issue tax receipts.

Need help with something specific?

  • Create a free account as a person seeking support, then go to “Assistance & vouchers”.
  • Tell us what you need and roughly how much it costs. You can add a private note that only the reviewing caseworker sees.
  • If approved and funded, your voucher appears in your account with a code you can show at a participating vendor.
